Reaching the future of Chicago TOGETHER
College Students Need the Local Church More Than Ever!
With more than 1 million college students and young professionals in Chicago, this city presents an amazing opportunity. Unfortunately, we are dealing with a few problems. 1 in 4 young adults are reporting suicidal thoughts, 59% of generation Z says that church is not relevant to them and the percentage of these young adults who identify as atheist has doubled. Generation Z is the first post-christian generation and 70% of teens are choosing to not follow Jesus during their first year of college. It is safe to say that these future leaders are not attending church. These statistics were taken before the pandemic hit. Can you imagine what the number is now?
Participate.
As ambassador’s of God’s kingdom, this problem is our problem. As a result, the Lord has led us to launch a city wide Bible study on Sunday nights to meet this need in slowing down that rate. We are all in this fight together so we are inviting you to participate. You can do this by recruitment, ministry spotlights, and other opportunities listed in the form below. Will you join us in this endeavor to reach Chicago?
Pray.
The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. This is why we are told to pray to the Lord of the harvest. There is a city full of young adults ready to experience the grace of the gospel more than ever before. It is clear that we need prayer for laborers and to see young adults’ lives changed. Sign up in the form below to receive our prayer calendar. Will you send this to your congregation and prayer partners so that they may pray for us?
Partner.
Our city has thousands of Christian young adults that are looking for places to connect and fellowship. City Outreach 312 is all about connecting these young adults to the local church. Our dream is to connect the thriving community of young adults in Chicago with the many local churches ready to minister to them. Making this dream come true requires that we have partners who are willing to invest in this vision. Will you consider being one of our ministry partners?
““You have to have a leadership pipeline developing, and that usually happens through campus work. You have to have really dynamic college ministry…You have to have a campus leadership pipeline. Otherwise, the church planting doesn’t continue.””
