Reaching the future of Chicago TOGETHER

College Students Need the Local Church More Than Ever!

Our Vision.

At Campus Outreach, our vision is clear: "Glorifying God by building laborers across Chicago for the Lost World." We're on a mission to cultivate committed followers of Jesus, dedicated to His Great Commission through evangelism and discipleship.

Our passion is to engage and empower young adults with the life-changing gospel, nurturing them into mature disciples of Christ. In a city with over half a million college students, the opportunity is immense. Yet, challenges loom large. Shockingly, 1 in 4 young adults grapple with suicidal thoughts, 59% of Gen Z finds the church irrelevant, and atheism is on the rise. The first post-Christian generation, Gen Z sees a decline in those following Jesus, especially during their initial year of college. It's clear these future leaders aren't attending traditional churches. These statistics are pre-pandemic; one can only imagine the impact of these numbers today. We are driven by the urgency of this situation, and committed to igniting a transformative movement in the heart of Chicago.

Who We Are.

The ultimate purpose of God's people is to glorify Him forever. We desire to spread a passion for God's glory throughout the world, urgently proclaiming His identity, reputation, and fame to all people in all places. Campus Outreach maintains a strong relationship with the church, is inter-denominational, and is deeply connected with the Bride of Christ.

Why CO.

Campus Outreach recognizes the university campus as one of the world's most strategic ministry fields. Four key factors contribute to this assessment: evaluating faith, exceptional availability, openness to ideas, and remarkable potential for future global impact. This unique combination drives our mission to impact the world for Christ.

Why You.

As Jesus once remarked, "The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few" (Mt. 9:37). This truth resonates today, and our world in the 21st century offers abundant needs and opportunities. CO's goal is to collaborate with young adults, institutions, churches, and individuals to raise equipped Kingdom leaders, addressing the pressing need.

Together for Christ…

Partnership

We're forging partnerships with churches citywide, whether they already have college ministries or not. We are seeking to build a network of churches and campus ministers dedicated to reaching the next generation of students. Our collective effort aims to provide discipleship and community to college students in Chicago.

The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. This is why we are told to pray to the Lord of the harvest. There is a city full of young adults ready to experience the grace of the gospel more than ever before. It is clear that we need prayer for laborers and to see young adults’ lives changed. You have to have a leadership pipeline developing, and that usually happens through campus work. You have to have really dynamic college ministry…You have to have a campus leadership pipeline. Otherwise, the church planting doesn’t continue.
